Why you have to extract the welding fumes

A portable welding fume extractor is necessary in all workplaces where metal welding is carried out frequently and systematically. Welding fumes, in fact, are harmful to workers' health because they contain a large amount of metal particulate matter: if breathed in, they can cause acute and chronic damage to the respiratory tract.

The only way to eliminate the risk is to eliminate these fumes at source, that is as soon as they are produced to prevent them from dispersing in the air: for this reason our portable welding fume extractor act locally, directly on the welder.

In some countries, having a welding fume extractor is not only necessary for health and safety reasons, but is also required by law (national regulations).

Where to install a portable welding fume extractor

In general, therefore, a portable welding fume extractor is required in most industrial sectors, construction sites, laboratories and car and motorcycle repair and service centers.

  • For the industrial sectors, we are talking about mechanical workshops, carpentry shops, steelworks, metallurgies, assembly lines, electronic and electrotechnical laboratories;
  • For the construction sectos, they are necessary especially in naval shipyards, where the welding of ship components releases large quantities of fumes harmful to health;
  • For the car and motorcycle sector, extraction systems must be installed in workshops and body shops that weld internal or external components (bodywork) of vehicles and motorcycles, including heavy vehicles, earthmoving machines, and motorsport vehicles.
