Repair shops daily need to remove a myriad of harmful substances from the work environment tied to exhaust gas emission from the vehicles present. There are specific extraction systems for this need, specifically created to maximise efficiency and thus also the cost-benefit ratio in each case.

For years, WORKY has strived to provide custom solutions to repair shops and garages seeking quality, efficient and durable extraction systems. This article presents an overview on the most popular solutions, already used by leading repair shops throughout the world.

Fixed extraction systems

Fixed extraction systems are the most appropriate solution for large repair shops that work on many vehicles every day, with frequent applications often performed simultaneously in several different points in the shop. This type of system always involves one or more hoses which, starting from the source, convey gas in a fixed pipe system whose purpose to expel them externally.

The hose configuration can take on different forms, according to specific needs. Minisets include a fan, hose and nozzle in a single solution and represent the simplest variation; reel systems are the more professional and more compact option that allows hoses to be hung on hangers, freeing shop floor and wall space.

Under floor extraction systems

Under floor extraction systems are an economic variation to fixed extraction systems: they are ideal for infrequent applications and in shops that want to reduce occupied space to almost zero. This type of system can come in two different solutions: the first requires hoses housed directly underground and are extracted for use; the second, is based on two flow wells to which the hose holder curves are applied when needed.

Sliding extraction systems

Sliding systems represent the more innovative and functional fixed extraction system variation. The principle is simple: hose holder trolleys and reel systems are restricted to a fixed station, but installed on specific sliding tracks, reaching the required points when necessary. These extraction systems thus optimise installation costs while providing the same benefits as aerial system meaning next to zero impact on shop floor space.

For this type of system, WORKY has also designed an advanced solution that avoids touching the vehicle exhaust pipe: they are the GTL range touchless arms, stand-alone yet flexible elements that do not require adapters for exhaust pipes built into vehicle bumpers.

Mobile extraction systems

For many small shops, fixed extraction systems are too large for their actual needs. In all these cases, you can install a mobile extraction system with a limited investment, an ideal solution for infrequent applications and in various points in the shop. In fact, these systems do not require fixed piping but only a hose long enough to expel gas outside.

To meet all sector needs, WORKY has designed a complete range of stand-alone extraction systems: the GROLLY series includes a car version, a bike version, a lorry version and a van version, all equipped with a 10-metre hose for correct gas exhaust.
